Welcome to the Web pages of the Remote Sensing Group at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory (RAL) in Oxfordshire, UK. The group is part of the Atmospheric Science Division in the Space Science & Technology Department (SSTD) at RAL. RAL itself is part of the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC).
The group are involved in a wide range of research projects involved in the retrieval of atmospheric constituents and properties from satellite and aircraft instruments. This involves both working with existing instruments and helping with the design of future instruments.
The projects page gives some details of the various projects the group is currently involved with. Derived products from some of the projects are available from the British Atmospheric Data Centre (BADC).
